I finally got a tray made for Georgia's high chair. Everyone says they like the way it turned out. This week I am going to varnish the whole thing. I think I'll spray it. A friend at church suggested a clear finish that he likes to use.
Looks good. Nice work matching the softened edges of the original parts.
You gonna spray it through a sprayer or is the recommended finish the aerosolized canned stuff (like spray paint)? I've never used the canned stuff, so I'm curious if that's what you try. Well, either way I'll be curious how the finish works for you.
I just smothed the edge with a sander. It is a nice little random obital I got for Jan a couple years ago when she was doing some cool things with old furniture.

Yeah, I got lucky on the match. I'm talking about the canned stuff. My friend who does a few furniture quality things a year likes the stuff at Lowes.
Did you rout the edge and just happen to have a bit that was similar to the profile?
Please do comment when you get the finish on.

Nice job. Definitely been there, done that.
